Robert Frosts Poem Fire and Ice Essay -- Robert Frost Fire Ice Poet P

Robert halts Poem Fire and Ice If you had a choice on how the world would end, what would you choose? Would your choice to be go painfully moreover fast? Perhaps you would rather it be so slow and painless you do not even realize it is happening? Thats what I believe Robert Frosts poem Fire and Ice is meant to express. Although the poem is short, it holds a very interesting question to think about. The question is which way would you rather the world fill out to an end. There are two choices. The first two lines in Fire and Ice express the choices, Some say the world will end in fire, / Some say in ice. I feel that he uses the term fire not to hold the direct meaning of a burning flame, but to represent the punishment something can inflict upon an object. It presents the image of the intense pain in which a burn can inflict, along with the extraordinary speed in which it happens. I feel he uses ice to represent a slow, almost unnoticeable change that eventually causes the destruction of mankind. Fire, instantaneous combustion of an object. Frost uses fire to represent an ending with incredible speed and unimaginable pain. The quote, ...

These claims are often made without the realization that technology also includes important and inwrought parts in their life such as authorship and the tools for writing. Writing was one of the first technologies invented. Technology has now become so entrenched in the majority of cultures around the world that it is hard to imagine a life or society without writing. For those that maintain a majority of technology beyond writing is harmful, imagine the difficulty in writing without the help of other technologies, which includes pencils, paper, computers, printing presses, and a number of other technological aids. In my project I essay to save without the assistance of normal technologies th at are often taken for granted. It proved a difficult undertaking. Before beginning to write I had to mention something to write on. As I searched my house and yard I realized that technology-free materials are difficult to find. I eventually found a birch log by the fireplace, which was once used by Native Americans for the purpose of writing. After tearing off the bark, and shaking off the dirt I had my paper. The hardest part was still not over I needed to find a replacement for the normal writing aid of a pencil or pen. I replaced ink with sexual love and traded a pen for a feather. My next step was the very slow process of streaking honey on the bark to form words. The honey was the same strain as the birch and blended in with the wood. To f... ...deas and knowledge. Composed from Westminster Bridge Essay -- Literary Analysis

Composed from Westminster Bridge invokes a strong sense of nature into the reader. It is from this that we can see the yellowish pink of Wordsworths London. One can argue that it is the purpose of this sonnet to highlight the power of nature and how civilization fits in around it. Primarily this can be seen in the linguistic choices of the Sonnet, particularly the role of personification, the function of phonological features such as rhyme and rhythm and the position of secondary sources. Using this methodology we should be able to explore the awe inspired respect of nature and how the city of London meshes with nature. Wordsworth makes heavy use of personification within the Sonnet. These personifications animate the city beyond the literal comment we encounter into a more natural affair. This city now doth like a garment wear/ The Beauty of the morning silent, bare. To propose that the city is wearing a garment implied that it is being covered up or censored. We could take this as a sign that nature hides the sins of civilization in the morning time when the people are still asleep. Further more as nature is being worn by civilization we could infer that Wordsworth solely takes on this appreciation of the city due to the effects of nature. To prove this we can look at Wordsworths description of London in relation its surroundings. The description of Londons Ships, towers, domes, theatres and temples in the syndetic list is almost paralleled in the latter line of In his first Splendour valley, rock or hill which is the view of Suckersmith who states that the listed details of the city skyline, Ships, towers, domes, theatres, and temples find a careful parallel in the features of the natural landscape, valley, roc... ...aldenBlackwell Publishing 2006) p.534-535 All subsequent references are to this edition Harvey shaft of light Sucksmith, Ultimate Affirmation A Critical Analysis of Wordsworths Sonnet, Composed upon Westminster Bridge, and the Image of t he City in The Prelude, The year book of English studies 6 (1976) p. 115 Charles V. There four strategies are as follows Home Replication Strategy In this strategy, a firm utilizes the core competency or firm- specific advantage it developed at home as its main competitive weapon in the foreign markets that it enters. That is, it takes what it does exceptionally well in its home market and attempts to duplicate it in foreign markets.Multi-domestic Strategy It is the second alternative available to international firm. A multi-domestic corporation views itself as a collection of relatively independent operating subsidiaries, each of which focuses on a specific domestic market. Global Str ategy It is the third alternative available for international firms. A global corporations views the world as a single marketplace and has as its primary goal the creation of standardized goods and services that will address the needs of customers worldwide. The Motivational Factor

Motivation is a process in which the individuals attention and interests are aroused and directed towards definite goals. Ones attention and interest can be evoked to the extent that the persons needs, May it be basic or acquired are the ones involved (Bustos, 1996).Learning is a process inferred from relatively stable changes in behavior that result by practice or interaction with and adaptation to the environment (Goodwin and Klausmeier, 1975 1978). It is the modification of organisms behavior as a result of maturation and environmental experiences (Garrison and Magoon, 1975).It has been utter that the most effective learning takes place when there is a maximum mental activity on the part of the learner. This mental activity can be best achieved through strong motivation thus motivation is basic to learning.A motivational factor varies according to age, needs, attitudes, intelligence, training and experience. An individual may act to a particular proposition stimulus due to some changes in his/her environment or something unusual is noticed. These factors that catch the attention of the learner can be apply by the teacher in order to motivate learning.Since motivational factors varies, the teacher should take into consideration then the nature of the child, past experiences, the environment, the needs and wants, as intimately as the individual differences. For instance if you are teaching 3rd graders the teacher should look into their developmental tasks so he/she (the teacher) would be able to associate his/her activities to the adequate to(p) matter which the students attention are evoked. An intrinsic motivation are internal desires to perform a particular task, people do certain activities because it gives them pleasure, develops a particular skill, or its morally the right thing to do. However extrinsic motivations are external factors that are not related to the task they are performing. The to a greater extent attached the person to the task he/she is performing the eager he/she does the work for the sense of fulfillment while people who are awarded with external things in order to perform a particular task (Deci and Ryan, 1985) would not be able to appreciate the job he/she performed but more likely to be bribed and would not feel fulfilled with his performance but rather with the thing he/she got because of it.Teachers especially teaching children who are still in their formation years should be very careful as to how they deal with their students. Intrinsic motivation should likely be done in order for them to enkindle as responsible human beings who will do good things without bribing them of anything just to provoke them in doing a particular stuff. On the other hand, parents as thoroughly must do the same thing at home since discipline starts at home. Activities at school must possess more on the affective domain of the learner and the rest follows.Motivation at this early stage on the development of the child lies m ore on his/her environment. The very concern of the teacher now is the knowledge and application of motivation and its sustainability. A lesson plan without a motivation is considered as incomplete. A teacher carries out the potentialities of the students with the motivation he/she has in store and so therefore he/she should be very well oriented with the factor that affects motivation to motivate his/her learners effectively.ReferencesBustos, Alicia S.Ed.D and Espiritu, Socoro PhD. Diversity Among Society Essay

The United States is made up of millions of nation that abide by from different backgrounds, religions and cultures. These differences are what make America the type of get in it is today, because without these differences we would be just like every other country in the world. One of the biggest resources that we would ease up to champion find information on Diversity would be the cyberspace and this is mainly because we disregard find out almost anything that we would need on a certain laundry or culture. An article from US Life-U. S discussion section of State had a quote from former U. S.Secretary of State Colin Powell that states, America is a nation of nations, made up of people from every land, of every race and practicing every faith. Our diversity is not a source of weakness it is a source of strength, it is a source of our success. That quote alone can explain the reliable meaning behind the diversity in America and why we are the way we are. Through any the info rmation that I acquired during this course, I have come to a better understanding of my racial and ethnical background.I have learned that according to the American Community Survey conducted by the U.S. Census dresser there are roughly over 36 million Americans that claimed there American heritage and that great political figures such as John F. Kennedy had an Irish background. I have also learned that it was never easy for Irish settlers years ago, because in the late 1800s through the early 1900s Irish immigrants were considered poor trash and were treated as such. It took many years for the Irish to establish a good name in America and over judgment of conviction people would stop hiding their Irish heritage and proudly display out in the open the love of their background. It is very hard to tell what the U. S. ordain look like in the year 2050, because we are constantly changing and we provide continue to do this throughout our time. One thing that I can imagine is that we will have more humans then we know what to do with, because modern medicine is figuring out new ways to help people live longer and stay healthier. As for the demographics in the U. S. go, I would have to say that all raciest will be about equal in population and the white race will no longer be the dominant race. There will be more diversity in olitics and in the media, because as of right now we have a black chairperson and that is just the beginning of what the future will be like. Its hard to say if there will ever be any big race wars in America, because in todays modern world everything seems ok, merely no one is ever really original what lies beneath the surface of individual groups. There could be a great race war that might glide by in the future, or everybody will finally start to accept each other and we could live a beautiful existence. The challenge that the United States faces with diversity is that everyone is various(a) and the deficiency to be proud and stage there true diversity. The main problem with that is that some other cultures dont agree with them and they might want them to change their ways, or leave. This has always been a big challenge for the United States, because as time goes on we should be cheerful with diversity and accepting it on with ours, but there always will be certain people out there that will never change and they will make sure that they are heard within any means necessary. On the other side there are many great benefits that Untied States could benefit from with organism such a diverse place. The occurrence that there are so many different views and opinions in America of the world around them, they could never very run out of ideas. So many cultures offer such good things to America and they will continue to keeping adding on to that list. In todays modern society certain individuals still feel the need for racial security and what that means is that someone might still feel more comfortable around their own kind. For example a white family starts to pack up out of their home and move away from a changing neighborhood. The family finds a place that is more suitable towards their own security which is an all white suburb. The enroll their kids in an all white school and feel that nothing bad will happen to them. Little do they know is that their sons new friend from school is a thief and deals drugs throughout the school. As time moves on the family starts to see a change in their childs behavior, as if he was on some sort of drug, they ignore it, because they are amongst white people are they think that things like that couldnt happen.Fast forward a little more and the child is grown up and in jail for build up robbery. The parents are clueless and confuse, because they never thought that it would happen in an all white neighborhood. Now the point to that story is that in order to foster a climate for acceptance we need to understand that not every other race is bad or will corrupt their race in fact if each race got together and helped one other out with this kind of problem they could share their experiences and find a proper solution for the problem. The issue with racial profiling in the media is that the reader does not understand what is going on and assumes that a certain situation is a result of that entire race. A entire example would be the 9/11 tragedy, because after that the media and the people reading the media pretty much made it seem that the situation was a result of all Muslims, when in fact it was only a handful of people that had hateful opinions towards America. The media may not be all bad and include nothing but racial profiling in fact the media can also showcase the coming together of different races. The media recognized that we would have a black president and that many different races had voted for him, because they felt that he could do the job right regardless of color or background. If everyone in America could understand the or igin that we have and this is not because we have missiles or a great army, instead it is because we have so many different cultures that bring many different things to our Nation. We would have the power of Americas spirit on our side and it would be hard to break the spirit and will power of that many different people.I am also one that sadly shown my negativity towards another race at one time and it might of not been violent, because it was only in my head, but it goes to show that almost everyone in some way and another will or have experienced that and the best way to overcome that barrio is to understand, research and understand another cultures meaning to behind what they do and then an alliance with each other could happen and we could one day become brothers and sisters of the world again.

Without the structure a business has the employees wouldnt be able to carry out their jobs and the departments of the business would have too many employees or too little. Moreover both business capital of the United Kingdom Heathrow Marriott and McDonald are allocated nationwide which shows that they need to be able to carry out orders quick and adequately which it also shows they are well organized. Also there is less control within the business as there is only one manager per department and it would be harder for the manager to keep track of each inferior to who they are in charge over. This shows that there is a large area of responsibility this might direct to some tasks that a business wants to achieve to be completely inefficiently meaning that they want to do things without any trouble which can effect the business as a loss for the business as there might be a problem but if it hasnt been fixed or repaired after a period of time and if the person in charge of the people lower in the chain e.g. trainees, employees might be dealing with a lot of staff but some jobs and prospects of a business might be at risk of no longer existing. Where there is one manager who is in control of the other assistants and employees. He takes all the decisions and he is in charge of the main functions. This makes it very simple for the staff because all they have to do is selling. This way they can pay more attention to the customers, so I th ink this is indeed the best structure for a McDonalds restaurant. But the McDonalds corporation has a hierarchical structure. This is a huge company with lots of different departments which has to be organized very well, because if the employees arent direct in the right way they wont do their jobs right. So this way it is all ordered and the people can work undisturbed, this saves time and money for the business. the advantages of a flat hierarchical structure for McDonalds The advantages of a flat hierarchical structure for McDonald are that faster decision can be made so that they wouldnt have to waste time on making decision and make quick profit. Also there is a shorter channel of communication so that employees can find out any necessary information which they need to know. It is also more cost effective as Flat Organisation is less costly because it has only few managers. It also creates fewer levels of management. It is more suitable for routine and standardized activities. D isadvantages of a hierarchical structure for McDonaldsThere are chances of losing control because there are many subordinates under one manager this will result in bad discipline in the organisation as they have lost control. 1 . Pillsbury Case Marketing

Mike Johnson Pillsbury Case Beth Gallant 1) What ar the challenges that Ivan Guillen faces in his role as marketing manager of the RBG business? As marketing manager of the RBG business, Ivan Guillen must propose a solution to repair Pillsbury refrigerated baked goods (RGB)s business performance. Since the refrigerated-cookie reaping specify consisted of 62% of RBGs unit sales and over 75% of the companys profits, Guillen found it take away to alter this segment in the market.Proposing this idea to GMCC would require Guillen to consider all the challenges he faces. Guillen impart nurse to discover a system to improver household penetration since it has fallen to 24% in the ultimo few years. The lack in market penetration has caused a miniscule offshoot of only integrity percent in the past three years. In order for Guillen to increase the penetration percent, he will assume to reevaluate the Kisses commercial. The assessment of this advertisement revealed the lack of l ong suit for marker recognition and relevance. Introducing. Also, when reviewing the Purchase Drivers In Canada As Compargond To The US it is app arnt that consumers are concerned with the quality of the starting line, the flavors offered, and the amount of cookies offered. Either Guillen is going to need to draw up a marketing plan that addresses these issues are alter the cookie in most way. Lastly, Guillen will have to conduct marketing research to understand the difference between Canadian and US markets. The Kisses commercial was adopted from the US and slightly changed for the Canadian market.Seeing as it failed to generate the projected annual growth of five to seven percent, there is a clear difference between the Canadian and US publicizing markets. 2) What are consumer insights (in general)? What types of business challenges back end benefit from consumer insights? How are these insights obtained? Consumer insight is when a marketer researches unidentified/unmet inel uctably in the marketplace or a tonic/ wagerer way to satisfy an existing need. The line of business of the marketer is to analyze the information and capitalize on the identified need. There are two main types of research, decimal and qualitative. Quantitative research revolves around the measurement and analysis of relationships between variables. Random sampling techniques, like questionnaires and surveys, furnish marketers with results that can be generalized to a larger population. Qualitative research, on the other hand, takes on a more catch and conceptual approach. Through focus groups, marketers can gather an in-depth spirit of consumer behavior. The most special K type of research used at GMCC are the focus groups. Focus groups are where a minor(ip) group of masses have a moderated discourseion about a marketing-oriented issue. The group then summarizes its opinions and finally comes to a solution they find fit. Summarizing all of the opinions of the focus groups can aid in new carrefour development, brand messaging, and promotional campaigns. A nonher type of marketing research GMCC uses are concept tests. Concept tests are commonly used to improve new product development and develop brand messaging.Concept tests brook an stunt man of the product, pricing information, instructions, and key benefits to a consumer in verbal or visual form. The consumer then quantitatively evaluates the product by stating their degree of obtain intent. Lastly, GMCC also performs creative testing in order to evaluate the effectiveness of ads. When an add is put through the creative test, they are being judged on their purchase intent, relevance, and brand gene linkage scores. Having a powerful add that allures the consumer can squarely increase brand recognition. This Kisses commercial that Pillsbury had launched in Canada did not meet its expectations due to the lack of creative testing. 3) Given the key learnings from the usage and attitude study on pp 6 -7 of the case, what are the corresponding implications for what actions the team should take? (Format this into a chart of key learning, implication, action) Key Learning moment Action Scratch baking is the dominant method of baking cookies in Canada. In Canada, 56% bake only from scratch. In the US, use of refrigerated scrawl is the most popular baking method. The refrigerated dough market does not seem to have a strong presence in Canada. It seems as if people are either unaware of refrigerated dough or they just do not pick it. Either research how to make refrigerated dough more appealing to Canadian consumers or fail the Canadian market and focus on the US market (since it has a stronger demand for refrigerated dough). covering fire four purchase drivers are the same in both countries. Convenience and taste are at the top of both lists. The quality of the cookie dough is not valued as highly in Canada and electric razors have more of an influence in driving purchases. C learly there is a big prisonbreak between the quality perception in Canada and the United States. Canadian consumers are implying that they want a high quality product and a product that is more convenient for children. Propose a marketing strategy that addresses the quality of the cookie or targets children. Since children have a stronger influence in Canadian markets than US markets, comer out to them could increase brand recognition and sales. Both users and lapsed users perceive refrigerated cookie dough as convenient.Lapsed agree that RBG cookies are convenient, but non-users do not rate them as convenient. Lapsed and trustworthy users agree on lash-up, leaving marketers to believe this is actually true. Non-users, however, are not receiving this message. Non-users in Canada are not as aware of the product as they should be. Reaching out to non-users through ads and commercials can increase the convenience recognition for RBG cookies. If non-users considered the cookie s convenient they would be more likely to purchase them. 4) Why did Guillen and his team conduct the in-home and denudation workshops? To find out what? Conducting a qualitative research was proposed in order to gain a better understanding of consumer perceptions, beliefs, and tints towards RBG cookies. The usage and attitude study portrayed the differences between Canada and the United States, whereas this study will mark which aspects of the baking experience are most appealing to consumers. The ethnography study RBG conducted, In-home Immersions, sought to gain an in-depth understanding of personal motivations and actions towards a particular product. RBG entered the homes of two lapsed users and wo brand champions while the consumers were baking the good. During the visit, the marketers hoped to develop an understanding of the consumer-brand relationship, what surrounds it, the environment around it, and the bigger-picture influences. For example, RBG found out that when it c ame to feeding the family, the solutions had to be easy, quick, and pleasing to children. It also showed the sense of blessedness that arises when baking occurs. Knowing this information could help propose the idea of implementing comfortable implications in future ads.The discovery workshop was similar to the ethnography study, except the study group consisted of 18-27 consumers working together. This comfortable environment al embarrasseds consumers to discuss opportunities and criticize issues of the product. 6) What actions would you suggest that Guillen and his team take? a. What should their value proposition be? b. Which consumers should they target? Why? c. What should the brand messaging be? Guillen has numerous tough decisions ahead of him when proposing his new marketing strategy. However, Guillen conducted a multitudinous of studies to provide him some insight on what an appropriate solution would be. In terms of the product itself, there are many alterations that could be made. Children have more of an influence in Canadian markets than in US markets. Providing kid themed offerings could increase brand recognition and demand from children. Simple ideas such as adding famous cartoon characters or sports themes could sway a child to want RBG cookies. Also, adding new flavors/types of cookies could increase the width of customers.Providing healthier options, dietary restrictions (gluten free, low sodium), and new flavors would reach out to more consumers. Expanding new product development would also be benefit to brand recognition. Providing Pillsbury baking tools like cookie cutters, timers, oven mitts, and aprons would cause the experience of baking to be more enjoyable. some other recommendation to Guillen would be to re-new and strengthen relationships with consumers. In doing so, Guillen should stress the nostalgic and experiential aspect.Through the in-home study, it has been concluded that baking introduces a sense of happiness in the kitchen . Having this perception instilled in a consumers mind may persuade them to purchase the refrigerated dough for themselves or as a gift. Having a celebrity spokesperson influence consumers can have a positive impact as well. In previous commercials, RBG cookies solely relied on the Pillsbury doughboy. Although he is a very recognizable character, maybe the consumers do not find him as trustworthy as they would a celebrity. The celebrity could stress the easiness, convenience, and homemade feeling RBG cookies provide. In-store display and packaging also has a significant impact on the consumer. Having a brand portrayed in a positive way gives the consumer the feeling that he or she is making the right choice. Research showed that most purchases of refrigerated dough were out of impulse. sales can simply increase by strategically placing the product to locations where consumers frequently buy on impulse. change magnitude the visibility with the doughboy logo would have the consumers more likely thinking about the product. If the cookies are going to be strategically placed and visible, then they are going to need to have attractive packaging. go visitation packages with three different flavors would also allow consumers to have the opportunity to try out new flavors. Offering different serving sizes and holiday themes also expands the horizon of consumer tastes and preferences. In the short run, investing in favorable media, advertisement, and a spokesperson is most beneficial action to take. It is a quick opportunity for consumers to be persuaded into purchasing the object. However, in the long run it would be most beneficial to introduce new product flavors and hearty and dietary restrictive options. By renewing and strengthening its relationship with existing and lapsed consumers, Pillsbury can increase household penetration. Changing the perception of the product in the minds of the consumer from food to family activity/gift can influence the non-users t o sample the product. Lastly, acknowledging new 21st century dynamics of healthy lifestyles and smaller servings can appeal to new market segments and eventually increase sales.
